ZAKLJUČAK
René Descartes, francuski filozof, fizičar, matematičar i
utemeljitelj analitičke geometrije, često se spominje u kon-
tekstu boli jer je njegova teorija bila da se informacija o boli
jednostavno i pravocrtno prenosi od ozlijeđenog tkiva do
„centra za bol“ u mozgu. Njegova teorija dominirala je istra-
živanjem i terapijomboli sve donedavno, kad je otkriveno da
brojni čimbenici utječu na prijenos informacije o štetnom
podražaju od periferije do mozga, uključujući mehanizme
koji se zbivaju u tkivima, kao i niz psiholoških čimbenika
(48). Unatoč sve boljem razumijevanju neurobiologije boli
još se mnogo toga ne zna kad je iskustvo boli u pitanju. Pred
znanstvenicima je još mnogo posla na fenomenu boli.
