7. jadranski i 5. hrvatski kongres farmakoekonomike i ishoda liječenja

Mjesto: Poreč
Organizator: HDKFiT sekcija za farmakoekonomiku

Dear Colleague,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend and actively participate in the 7th Adriatic and 5th Croatian Congress of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research which will be held in hotel Parentium (4*) at Plava Laguna, near the beautiful city of Poreč, Croatia, from April 20-23, 2017.

The main objective of this year’s congress is to intensify and enhance professional and scientific discussions between various stakeholders about…

‘How to Manage Access to Medical Innovation in Central and Eastern Europe’

… with the focus to and most case studies presented in the field of oncology as well as to the transparency and efficiency of national policy development and implementation.

Our Congress is the forum to (i) share research and help advance the science of health economics within the Adriatic region, (ii) give opportunity for networking and interacting, and (iii) get involved in debating controversial and complex issues of the health care involving a range of stakeholders. We are proud that during the past six years our annual Congress has become a reference point in the field of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research in our region since we are not shying away from explicitly discussing pressing challenges, such as conditions of severe economic constraints within our jurisdictions.

We encourage your participation by submitting research podium and poster papers. As every year, we will organize half day educational course prior to the Congress and a number of plenary sessions, round table discussion, issue panels, and research presentations.

The main topics of this year congress will be:

• The importance and impact of the availability and quality of the national epidemiology data and patient registries on the quality of pharmacoeconomic studies and rational decision making process in the national healthcare systems, with the focus on case studies in oncology and similar therapeutic areas with increasing treatment costs

• The impact of continuous medical education, national and/or international clinical guidelines and the efficiency of their implementation and monitoring on the healthcare outcomes and the sustainability of healthcare financing, with the focus on case studies in oncology and similar therapeutic areas with increasing treatment costs

• The importance of national policy development, availability of tailored health technology assessment and outcome research processes to study the value innovation and their impact on healthcare outcomes in developing countries;

• The impact of pharmacoeconomic studies on the transparency and competitiveness of payback / clawback models for expensive medicines, connecting the dots between the value and the price

• The role and importance of generic medicines and biosimilars to the sustainability of healthcare financing and the impact to national economy, with the focus to impact analysis of the recent off patent oncology medication, with focus to case studies of recent and near future off patent oncology medicines.

• The impact of clinical trial conduct on the healthcare outcomes, national health insurance funds and national economy in 'clinical trial friendly and competitive' countries

It is important to note that a wide range of stakeholders within the health care are expected to actively participate: healthcare professionals (national, regional and international), members of academia, different associations, regulatory and payer authorities, politicians, and last but not least the representatives of the pharmaceutical industry.
